Hoof Hardener

Keratex Hoof Hardener - I am a barefoot farrier and I am extremely impressed how easy and successful this hoof hardener is. My young Arab, Mars, 4 yrs old, always had got foot sore on her front hooves and went lame often and I didn't know what to do. Since using your product her feet are so much harder and didn't dry out. She is finding walking on the road and over stones much easier and doesn't go lame. I can start to take her trekking and wish to thank you heaps. also The same pony Mars, had mud fever when I bought her a year ago on her hind legs. That's nearly 12 mths of mud fever. I had the vet out several times and must have spent well over $300's to try and fix her mud fever. Her legs swelled up, with pus coming out and she was lame heaps. I tried all the different creams but no go. I saw your product on Trade-me and thought well I will try this, I have nothing to lose. I bought sun boots for her, fed her kelp and use the mud fever shield powder twice a day. I couldn't believe that she was improving and the mud fever dried up and went away, within 2 weeks. Even after one days use I could see her open sores drying out. She was happy for me to put the powder on, as she used to kick and rear when I treated her mud fever. I can't thank you enough, its a dream come true. As I am a horse trainer I am spreading the word to all my clients. I tell everyone these products really work no Bull. Could you be so kind and send 10 of your information and price list flyers, so I can hand this out to people.

Hoof Moisturiser

I must say that I'm very pleased with the hoof moisturiser, after all the wet weather we had earlier in the year now we are experiencing extremely dry conditions, (I cant even remember when it rained last!) my horses hooves look great! the hooves look well nourished and in excellent condition with no cracks or evidence of such dry conditions. I also think the hoof putty is a fantastic idea and in the past I have been in need of such a product but as of yet I haven't needed to use it but such a great idea! the vets up this way love it!

Nail Hole Disinfectant

My horse was suffering from a nasty infection in his hoof caused by Seedy Toe disease. After digging out as much of the 'black gue' from the hole as possible, I used Keratex Nail Hole Disinfectant and plugged the hole with cottonwool. I did this each day for several days after which time the horse was no longer lame. I then used the Keratex Putty to plug the hole, renewing the putty every few days for a couple of weeks. His hoof has now recovered and is strong and disease free. Thank you Keratex. Your products work really well.

Nail Hole Disinfectant:Hoof Disinfectant:Hoof Putty:Hoof Gel:Hoof Moisturiser

My farrier informed me that my new young horse had white line disease and a little bit of sole separation in one Hoof. So I took it upon myself (not knowing what this meant) to search for some treatments. I came across KERATEX on the internet and was intrigued in their range of hoof care products. I really liked their affordable prices and how the range was suited to the South East Queensland Climate. To cut a long story short I received most of the range and begun treating 3 of my horses for various reasons. Firstly my 2 barefoot horses had really soft, smelly feet from the wet, sodden conditions of my paddocks. I proceeded to disinfect their feet with the “KERATEX Hoof Disinfectant” and continued to do so weekly. After the disinfectant was dry each time I coated their feet in the “KERATEX Hoof Gel” to water proof them. The hooves hardened up again and stayed dry and the smelly ‘toe jam’ stench went away. It was great peace of mind knowing their feet were maintaining correct moisture balance. I also managed to keep their feet abscess free. I started treating my while line horse by cleaning under the shoes (they were 3 weeks on ) with a fine nail digging out any dirt and rotten hoof. Each time I would squirt “KERATEX Nail Hole Disinfectant” under the shoe with its applicator nozzle. The white line cavity was quite large! After a week of daily cleaning I packed the crevice with “Hoof Putty”. This stayed in until the horse was shod a week later. The shoes were then put back on with “KERATEX Hoof Putty” underneath the shoes. Five weeks on the shoes were replaced, putty and hoof filed off and the white line virtually gone! Too easy!!! Now with much, much, drier conditions all my horses’ feet are kept in optimum condition with “KERATEX Hoof Moisturiser” maintaining the correct moisture balance and are therefore chip and crack free.

Hoof Disinfectant

My young unbroken horse recently suffered a serious injury to his hind hoof which he managed to split right to the coronet. I used Keratex Hoof Disinfectant which has prevented any infection, and the damaged area of the hoof has now broken off, and the hoof appears to be healing naturally with new growth starting at the top. Although the hoof is still very vulnerable to further injury, the horse is comfortable and not lame. I am still applying the Hoof Disinfectant every few days to prevent infection. I have also used this product to eliminate a Seedy Toe infection on the same horse. I can't recommend this product highly enough, it is great! Well done KERATEX.

Hoof Disinfectant:Hoof Putty:Hoof Hardener

I am currently using Keratex hoof disinfectant and putty to help with seedy toe issues – find the disinfectant good and am using the putty to seal in some copper sulphate in an area that would be hard to protect any other way – this is good and my farrier likes it! I am about to start using Keratex hoof hardener to try and harden her very soft soles (it was so wet in Sydney earlier this year - thankfully drier now but all these environmental issues are lingering on in my aged mare!) I’ll let you know how that goes but for now all I can say is 2 big thumbs up for Keratex.

Mud Shield Powder

I have found Keratex Mud Shield Powder not only cured my horse's chronic mud fever skin condition on her white legs, it has also prevented the effects of the sun on her legs which are photosensitive in the summer. Prior to my use of the Mud Shield Powder, the mud fever had persisted right through the summer months when there was no mud and the paddock conditions were dry. I had tried all the usual remedies to no avail. The disease just kept on spreading. I discovered Keratex Mud Shield Powder and tried it. There was an immediate improvement in the skin condition and the mud fever sores started drying up and soon disappeared. I still use the Mud Shield Powder twice a week as a preventative measure, and my horse has been completely free of any skin disease for over a year. To my knowledge, Keratex Mud Shield Powder is the only sulphur based equine powder available in New Zealand. When I ride my horse in the summer, I rub Mud Shield Powder onto her blaze and it has protected her nose from being sunburnt while being ridden. She is a horse that needs to wear a mask attached to her halter to prevent sunburn on her nose when out in the paddock. The Mud Shield Powder on her nose has no unwanted effects, unlike the cream sunscreen products which actually end up burning the sensitive skin on the nose. Other benefits from this wonderful Mud Shield Powder are the whitening effect it has on white hair, and the topical use on minor skin abrasions, for which I have found it extremely effective. Kayjay. Testimonial Mud Shield Powder

The ONLY product that I have found in NZ to get rid of the mud fever !! Many vet products later and getting my head near knocked off on a daily basis was driving me insane and not to mention how my bank balance suffered. Finding Keratex was the end to all my problems. After 14 days application to a chronic case my horse no longer suffered from the mud fever. Scabs dropped away daily and she was not bothered with me dealing with her once painful legs. I now just apply before I ride daily and have kept this horrible mud fever away and can get on with riding and enjoying being with my horse. I have a number of friends who are now hooked on the powder and wish I had taken before and after photos of ALL the bad cases and how good the legs look now. Recently a friend got her horse back from stud and her horse had extremely bad mud fever. She was putting all sorts of creams and gunk on from vets and it was getting worse. I told her about Keratex and told her to wash off ALL cream and grease with a 30% copper sulphate / water wash, dry legs and apply Keratex 2x a day or whenever she went near the horse. She was down there every hour just about LOL It has taken 3 containers of Keratex powder but the horse no longer has the problem. She is SOLD on it too. I praise the person who made this product as so many horses have suffered with Mud fever and to find this has made life very stress free for us horse owners. Good on you, cheers, your wonderful and thank you so much. I also used on a skin irritation on another horse and it cleared up in 2 days !! Great stuff, love it. Bev Marquet Nelson NZ
